Abraham Hamadeh

R · U.S. House, AZ-8 · Tier 1

Tier 1, “Firmly pro-Israel”

Position

Arizona freshman and former Army Reserve intelligence officer who co-authored the PEACE Act with Brad Schneider (H.R.2609, Apr 2025), which would institutionalize what he called “pro-America, pro-Israel training on the Abraham Accords” at the State Department so that diplomats “advance regional cooperation instead of fashionable anti-normalization rhetoric.” In August 2025 he traveled from Jerusalem to Damascus to press Syria’s President al-Sharaa to normalize with Israel and join the Abraham Accords, and during the June 2025 Iran war he said “Israel continues to hit military sites exclusively while the Iranian regime targets civilian sites in Israel.” Since taking office he has been an original cosponsor of the IGO Anti-Boycott Act (H.R.867) and has voted for ICC sanctions (Jan 2025) and the September 2026 anti-boycott bill, and against the 2025 Greene and 2026 Massie cuts.

Why this tier

A 1, though the call is close. Hamadeh has taken the lead on Israel’s normalization agenda more than once in his first term. He is the Republican co-lead, with Brad Schneider, of the PEACE Act (H.R.2609, April 2025), which would set up “pro-America, pro-Israel training on the Abraham Accords” at the State Department; in August 2025 he traveled from Jerusalem to Damascus to press Syria’s President al-Sharaa to normalize with Israel and join the Accords; and he wrote defense-bill committee amendments on the U.S.-Israel counter-tunnel partnership in July 2025, adopted by voice, and June 2026. His votes since taking office are pro-Israel throughout: ICC sanctions, the September 2026 anti-boycott bill, and No on the 2025 Greene and 2026 Massie cuts. No concern for Palestinian civilians surfaced. Counter-case: a 1/2, since the PEACE Act is Schneider’s bill and has not left committee, the 2025 amendment applied Israel’s counter-tunnel lessons to Arizona’s border, and he has written no standalone Israel bill of his own.
