Tier 3/4, between “Pro-Israel, critical” and “Critical / conditions aid”

Position

She is a combat veteran who also has the Working Families Party nomination. At the June 9, 2026 primary debate in Batavia she said “I would 100% support the Block the Bombs Act” and “In my opinion, I would not fund anything that has to do with war in Israel,” arguing that if Israel wants to wage a war “then they need to pay for that war”; she said she is “never going to be in support of killing children, starving people to death” and pointed to Gaza's destruction — “Eighty percent of Gaza is flat.” In the same exchange she said Israel “absolutely has a right to exist” and should be allowed to defend its borders, and declined to commit to a two-state framework (“I’m not married to any particular solution”). At the October 20, 2026 general-election debate with Rep. Claudia Tenney, asked whether Israel is an ally, she said: “Right now, they’re using our money to commit a genocide in Gaza,” and “It is a genocide”; she repeated “I would support the Block the Bombs Act and I would support any legislation that would reduce funding to Israel,” and, pressed again, answered “until they change their behavior in Gaza, no.”

Why this tier

A 3/4, on a thin record: two debate exchanges, in June and October 2026. At the June 9, 2026 primary debate in Batavia she said “I would 100% support the Block the Bombs Act” and “In my opinion, I would not fund anything that has to do with war in Israel,” giving Gaza’s civilian toll as her reason: she is “never going to be in support of killing children, starving people to death,” and “Eighty percent of Gaza is flat.” Beyond those two debates her campaign site says nothing about Israel. In the June answer she said Israel “absolutely has a right to exist” and “should be allowed to defend their own borders”; at the October 20 debate she called Israel’s war in Gaza a genocide — “It is a genocide” — backed “any legislation that would reduce funding to Israel,” and said she does not consider Israel an ally “until they change their behavior in Gaza.” Counter-case: 4, since refusing to fund Israel’s war goes past conditioning offensive weapons and she has now named the genocide, though only at her most recent debate.
