Andres Jinete
I · U.S. House, NJ-12 · Tier 5/6
Tier 5/6, between “Critical on most positions” and “Most critical of Israel / supports Palestine”
Green Party candidate in NJ-12, a tenant organizer running to Adam Hamawy's left. His platform, under the heading “STOP THE GENOCIDE,” calls to “Cut all funding and end all military and intelligence cooperation with states that engage in war crimes and genocide” and to “Support pro-BDS legislation and promote enforceable peace processes based on secularism and a single, shared system of governance”; he told WHYY (September 2026) that U.S. financial support for Israel must end — “When the money stops flowing, the genocide will stop” — comparing it to apartheid South Africa.
A 5/6, not a clean 6. He takes the Tier 5 position in his own words — end all funding and all military and intelligence cooperation, and stop the money to Israel — and names the genocide without hedging. He also questions Israel’s legitimacy twice: BDS by name, and a single shared, secular system of governance in place of a Jewish state. What holds him short of a clean 6 is a thin record: a first-time candidate whose documented activism is tenant organizing and ICE rapid response, with the Palestine positions resting on a platform and one voter-guide answer rather than sustained leadership. The platform never names Israel, but the genocide heading, the BDS plank and his WHYY answer leave no doubt about the target.
