Tier 2, “Mainstream pro-Israel”
A Naval Academy graduate and Navy medevac pilot with 24 years in the Navy and Navy Reserve, he won the Democratic primary in FL-7, where Ryan Elijah unseated Rep. Cory Mills in the Republican primary, and runs on affordability, an anti-corruption plan and ending the Iran war; DMFI PAC's Majority Project named him in September 2026 among "five pro-Israel Democratic candidates" it endorsed. Asked in a September 2026 WKMG News 6 interview whether he would join the House Democrats who voted to condition or cut arms to Israel, he said what had been offered also cut “defensive measures like the Iron Dome,” that everybody deserves “self-defense against terrorist activity,” and that “at a minimum, we need to look more at what needs to happen specifically, rather than any sort of blanket restrictions.”
A 2, on a thin record: one interview answer from September 2026 and DMFI PAC’s endorsement. Asked by WKMG News 6 whether he would join the more than 100 House Democrats who voted to condition or cut arms to Israel, he did not say he would: what had been offered “also cuts defensive measures like the Iron Dome,” everybody deserves “self-defense against terrorist activity,” and “at a minimum, we need to look more at what needs to happen specifically, rather than any sort of blanket restrictions.” That is a mainstream Democratic answer, wary of cutting arms but open to specifics, with no word on Gaza or Palestinian civilians. DMFI PAC’s Majority Project named him in September 2026 among “five pro-Israel Democratic candidates” it endorsed. He said his campaign had taken no AIPAC money, and FEC filings show no pro-Israel PAC money in 2022, 2024 or 2026. His site and Ballotpedia survey say nothing on Israel or Gaza. Counter-case: a 1/2, since he shows no daylight at all and answers a question about cutting arms with Israel’s self-defense.
