Ben McAdams
D · U.S. House, UT-1 · Tier 2
Tier 2, “Mainstream pro-Israel”
In a debate clip his primary rival Nate Blouin posted on April 24, 2026, he says: “I also oppose the atrocities that Netanyahu has committed in Gaza to the Palestinian people. That needs to end. It has ended at this point,” calling for humanitarian aid and rebuilding Gaza. Former one-term Rep. (UT-4, 2019–21) and Salt Lake County mayor who won the June 2026 UT-1 primary over Nate Blouin, Liban Mohamed and Michael Farrell; in the House he cosponsored and voted for H.Res.246 opposing the BDS movement (July 2019, 398–17) and H.Res.326 backing a two-state solution (December 2019). His 2026 campaign runs on affordability, democracy and ICE accountability, and he attacks the “unconstitutional war” in Iran.
A 2, on a thin record: two 2019 House votes and one 2026 debate sentence on Gaza. He cosponsored and voted for H.Res.246 opposing the BDS movement (July 2019, 398–17) and voted for H.Res.326 backing a two-state solution (December 2019). In a debate clip his primary rival Nate Blouin posted in April 2026, McAdams opposes “the atrocities that Netanyahu has committed in Gaza to the Palestinian people,” adds “It has ended at this point,” and calls for humanitarian aid and rebuilding Gaza. That is concern for Palestinians with no word of Israel’s self-defense, but it lays the atrocities at Netanyahu’s door, treats them as over and says nothing on aid or weapons to Israel. He skipped the March 2026 town hall where his rivals called it a genocide, and his platform and the debate coverage reviewed are silent on it. JDCA endorses him, and FEC filings show no pro-Israel PAC money in 2022, 2024 or 2026. Counter-case: unrated, since his House votes predate the genocide and the Gaza sentence comes from a rival’s clip that opens mid-answer.
