Brandon Gill

R · U.S. House, TX-26 · Tier 1/2

Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”

Position

First-term member (since January 2025) whose campaign site has a “Standing Up for Israel” plank calling Israel “a beacon of democracy and stability in the volatile Middle East” and pledging “I firmly support Israel's right to defend itself against the barbaric assaults of Hamas.” As an original cosponsor of the Unmasking Hamas Act (Mar 2025), which raises penalties for masked protesters, he said “Terrorist sympathizers hiding behind masks to intimidate, threaten, and destroy have no place in America”; he also cosponsored the January 2025 bill to sanction the ICC over the Netanyahu and Gallant warrants and the U.S.-Israel Defense Partnership Act (H.R.1229). He voted for the ICC sanctions and the September 2026 college anti-boycott bill, and against the 2025 Greene amendment to cut $500 million in Israeli missile-defense aid and the July 2026 Massie amendment to strip Israel's military financing.

Why this tier

A 1/2, not a clean 1. Every Israel vote since he took office is pro-Israel, his campaign plank is a self-defense pledge, and he cast masked protesters as “terrorist sympathizers” — with no concern for Palestinian civilians found, a flat 2 does not fit. There is no leadership on the issue: he has written no Israel legislation (his student-visa bill targets adversary nations generally), his part in the protest bill is a cosponsorship, and his official press releases do not address Israel or Gaza. Counter-case: a clean 1 if his rhetoric is read as a hardline brand, though one line in a colleague’s release does not make one.
