Brennan Barrington
I · U.S. House, OH-15 · not rated
An aerospace-engineering graduate and electoral-reform advocate, he runs on cutting taxes, spending and regulation and on proportional representation, with a platform that calls Trump’s “war on Iran” “unconstitutional and unnecessary” and a “Stop the Wars” plank that pledges to vote against “any military spending which has a purpose other than protecting American citizens who are on American soil.” Asked in iVoterGuide’s 2026 general-election questionnaire whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, Barrington answered: “No. Israel's main strategic use is as a base of operations in the Middle East, but a large proportion of US operations in the Middle East are made necessary by our relationship with Israel. In any event, there are other countries (those recently targeted by Iran) there which allow their use as bases for such operations (which we should not be doing). As a trade partner, Israel is minor, at the level of Indonesia or Colombia.”
Not rated: the one statement on Israel is the 2026 iVoterGuide answer quoted above. His answer says the relationship is not important and that “a large proportion of US operations in the Middle East are made necessary by our relationship with Israel,” but it takes no position on aid or weapons to Israel, Gaza or Palestinians. His military-spending pledge is a blanket stance that names no country, and his campaign site mentions Israel only once, beside Italy, as a country where many parties have had “great difficulty forming a governing coalition.” Checked his 2026 Ballotpedia survey and campaign site (home, about, platform). Counter-case: a 3, reading his pledge to vote against military spending that does not protect Americans on American soil together with that Israel-specific “No.” Unrated until a position on aid or arms is stated.
