Tier 4, “Critical / conditions aid”
His campaign’s “Break up with Israel” page says “The State of Israel is not our friend,” that it “targets civilians and children all the time,” and “No more U.S. money or weapons for them,” and calls Netanyahu a “war criminal.” In a March 2026 Montana Free Press questionnaire he wrote that the military-industrial complex “(and now the State of Israel) has hijacked our national government on matters of war.” A Montana civil-litigation attorney, he won the June 2026 Democratic primary to face Rep. Troy Downing.
A 4, on a thin record: one campaign page and a few interview lines. His “Break up with Israel” page says “No more U.S. money or weapons for them,” an Israel-specific end to U.S. aid and arms, and says Israel “targets civilians and children all the time” and “is not our friend.” What holds him at 4 is that the cutoff is spelled out only on that undated page and he does not name the genocide; in a July 2026 interview he said “We need to keep our distance from Israel” and “I wish them well, but we should not be affiliated with them anymore,” and that he is “absolutely opposed” to a defense-bill section expanding U.S.–Israeli defense-technology cooperation. His March 2026 Montana Free Press answer adds that the military-industrial complex “(and now the State of Israel) has hijacked our national government on matters of war,” but not a second statement of the cutoff, and he argues as much from U.S. interest (“Our alliance with Israel make us less secure”) as from Palestinian lives. Nothing he says questions Israel’s legitimacy as a state. Counter-case: 4/5, since his words on Israel’s conduct go further than a bare end to aid.
