Tier 2, “Mainstream pro-Israel”

Position

She told the Glen Arbor Sun in July 2026 “We need a two-state solution” and that when she thinks of “the need for humanitarian aid, clean water, food and medical care for Palestinians, I think of my own children”; the paper reports she would not defund Iron Dome. A former teacher, attorney and veterans’ advocate and the 2024 nominee against Rep. Jack Bergman, she runs on housing, wages, food costs and rural health care, and faults Bergman for backing “the disastrous Iran war.”

Why this tier

A 2, on a thin record: one newspaper interview and one town-hall answer. She told the Glen Arbor Sun in July 2026 “We need a two-state solution” and “We need to work with the region to protect innocent civilian lives. When I think of the need for humanitarian aid, clean water, food and medical care for Palestinians, I think of my own children.” That is concern for Palestinian civilians in her own words, without an appeal to Israel’s self-defense. On weapons she said only “I would be guided by my values if I took a vote on military funding for Israel,” and the paper reports she would not defund Iron Dome. Asked whether she would hold Netanyahu to account for alleged war crimes, she answered “We need to distinguish between Netanyahu and Israel” and turned back to local issues; at a Marquette town hall in June 2026, answering a question that raised the genocide in Gaza, she said “Netanyahu should be in jail” and that she is “guided by the protection of innocent civilians, the self-determination of the Palestinian people, the security of Israel.” Her campaign site takes no position on Israel. Counter-case: 1/2, if one interview and one town-hall answer, alongside her reported support for keeping Iron Dome funded, are read as too thin to count.
