Carl Boyanton
I · U.S. House, MS-4 · Tier 1/2
Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”
A Gulf Coast produce businessman running in MS-4 as an independent — “A Principled Conservative Alternative” — after three losing Republican primary runs for the seat; he campaigns on term limits, a balanced budget, fraud and waste, immigration and abortion. Asked in iVoterGuide’s 2026 general-election questionnaire whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, Boyanton answered: “Israel is the only western democracy in the middle east. I believe we need to support them but I believe they can take care of themselves if we let them. I believe we like to give money away so we can have a say in other countries business.” In the same questionnaire he answered “Strongly Agree” that Islamic terrorism is a threat to U.S. national security: “We need to eliminate the threat. Religious zealots given the chance will try to destroy us and Israel. Not finishing the job in Iran will come back to haunt us.” For the March 2024 primary he told iVoterGuide the relationship with Israel is important: “Yes, Israel is the only Democracy in the middle East. They are on the frontline of defense against Islamic extremism.” For the 2022 primary, asked whether he supports “the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories,” he answered “Strongly Disagree” and added, “I support Israel’s right to exist.”
A 1/2. Boyanton backs Israel in his own words, in iVoterGuide answers from three races. In 2022 he answered “Strongly Disagree” on BDS and added, “I support Israel’s right to exist”; in March 2024 he called Israel “the only Democracy in the middle East,” “on the frontline of defense against Islamic extremism”; in 2026 he wrote, “I believe we need to support them,” and “Religious zealots given the chance will try to destroy us and Israel. Not finishing the job in Iran will come back to haunt us.” None of these answers voices concern for Gaza’s civilians, and as a challenger he has no votes to weigh. On a thin record: those questionnaire answers alone; his site and 2026 Ballotpedia survey never mention Israel, and a late-2023 campaign post on the war held only news videos. Counter-case: a 2, on his 2026 doubt about U.S. money (Israel “can take care of themselves if we let them”), though no answer calls for ending aid, and he faults aid for buying Washington “a say in other countries business,” not Israel’s conduct.
