Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”
Pro-Israel. On KFAB’s Vintage Voorhees in June 2025 he said of Israel, “They have every right to protect themselves,” and “I will stand with the Nation of Israel as a member of Congress so that they can defend themselves and defend their borders,” calling Israel “our leading ally in the Middle East” (from the station’s automatic transcript). President of the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce, an Air National Guard veteran and the Trump-endorsed nominee for the open IA-4 seat, he runs on border security, agriculture and “America First”; at the August 2026 State Fair he urged “the very conservative use of military force” but declined to say whether the Iran war met his test.
A 1/2, on a thin record: one radio interview. On KFAB’s Vintage Voorhees in June 2025 he said of Israel “They have every right to protect themselves” and pledged “I will stand with the Nation of Israel as a member of Congress so that they can defend themselves and defend their borders.” He also welcomed the U.S. strikes on Iran’s nuclear program, calling Israel “our leading ally in the Middle East.” That is unqualified support for Israel’s self-defense, with no word for Palestinian civilians. There is no leadership on the issue: he holds no office and has written no Israel legislation. AIPAC endorsed him and its PAC has directed $1,000 to his campaign (2026). The quotes come from the station’s automatic transcript, and his campaign site says nothing about Israel. Counter-case: unrated, since the record is a single interview.
