D · U.S. House, MI-10 · Tier 2/3

Tier 2/3, between “Mainstream pro-Israel” and “Pro-Israel, critical”

Position

An October 2025 post on her campaign Substack says that studying Lamentations “feels particularly poignant as we watch the conflict and tragedy in Israel and Gaza unfold — the scale of suffering, the ache of loss, the longing for justice and peace.” A former prosecutor and law professor from Macomb County, endorsed by EMILY's List and both Detroit papers' editorial boards, she runs on costs, children's online safety and anti-corruption against Republican Michael Bouchard. DMFI PAC’s Majority Project named her in September 2026 among the “five pro-Israel Democratic candidates” it endorsed, and Ballotpedia lists the Michigan Democratic Jewish Caucus among her endorsers. Asked at the MI-10 debate on WDIV’s Flashpoint, aired October 25, 2026, how she would vote on weapons sales to Israel, she said she has “not been particularly happy with the Netanyahu administration and the far-right government in Israel” but that “Israel is still our ally,” and: “I believe all aid should be conditional and should be based on American laws.” Pressed for a yes or no on selling Israel weapons, she said, “All aid should be conditional, and it’s going to depend on what that aid looks like,” and answered “Yes” when the moderator asked whether she meant offensive or defensive weapons.

Why this tier

A 2/3, on a thin record: one debate answer, one line from an October 2025 post on her campaign Substack, and DMFI PAC’s endorsement. At the October 25, 2026 MI-10 debate on WDIV she said “all aid should be conditional and should be based on American laws,” and would not give a yes or no on selling Israel weapons until she knew “what that aid looks like,” offensive or defensive; she called Israel “still our ally” and faulted “the far-right government in Israel.” Conditioning all aid on U.S. law is daylight, though not a pledge to withhold weapons or a condition on the laws of war. Writing in October 2025 that she was studying Lamentations, she said it “feels particularly poignant as we watch the conflict and tragedy in Israel and Gaza unfold — the scale of suffering, the ache of loss, the longing for justice and peace,” grief with no word of Israel’s self-defense. DMFI PAC’s Majority Project named her in September 2026 among the “five pro-Israel Democratic candidates” it endorsed, and Ballotpedia lists the Michigan Democratic Jewish Caucus among her endorsers; FEC filings show no pro-Israel PAC money in 2022, 2024 or 2026. Counter-case: 2, since the debate answer is days old, she calls Israel “still our ally,” and DMFI endorsed her.
