Tier 2, “Mainstream pro-Israel”
His campaign site’s foreign-policy page calls Israel “a smart small nation” that the U.S. chose as a friend “because of intelligence and military necessity”, and backs “a sovereign state of Palestine” while saying Palestinians “do not want a stable, respectible government”. In a July 2024 campaign post he wrote that Israel and Taiwan “do not need any military aid packages, they should pay for everything” as wealthy “key allies we do need”, and that money sent to Gaza “only turns it into weapons and tunnels for Hamas”. A former Lincoln Park council member and retired trade analyst, he is the U.S. Taxpayers Party nominee in MI-13 for a third time.
A 2, on one Israel-specific sentence. In a July 2024 campaign post he wrote that Israel and Taiwan “do not need any military aid packages, they should pay for everything” — an end to U.S. military aid while Israel keeps buying its arms, with nothing said against Israel’s conduct. The rest of what he has written is pro-Israel without daylight: Israel as a friend the U.S. chose “because of intelligence and military necessity,” defended against Arab and U.N. hostility, and opposition to aid for Gaza, money he says “only turns it into weapons and tunnels for Hamas,” with no concern expressed for Palestinian civilians; his support for “a sovereign state of Palestine” does not change that. No leadership on the issue: no Israel legislation, lobby fundraising or Israel-centered brand. Counter-case: 1/2, since the aid sentence is a 2024 fiscal principle (Germany, which “pays for their military,” is his model) that his current foreign-policy page does not repeat.
