Tier 2, “Mainstream pro-Israel”
An Army National Guard Black Hawk pilot, volunteer firefighter, former air traffic controller and local union president, he runs on a six-mission plan that covers cost of living, infrastructure, Medicare and Social Security, veterans and labor. Asked about Israel by The East Hampton Press in July 2026, he said he had agreed with the United States’ initial involvement but that his views had since changed: “When we get to a point where you’re running into a humanitarian crisis, where people are being unfed or you’re dealing with civilians,” he said. “War is inherently dangerous, but there comes a point now where us, as one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world, have the ability to be more surgical in our strikes to root out terrorism.”
A 2, on a thin record: one newspaper answer. Asked about Israel by The East Hampton Press in July 2026, he said he had agreed with the initial U.S. involvement but that his views had since changed: when “people are being unfed or you’re dealing with civilians,” the United States has “the ability to be more surgical in our strikes to root out terrorism.” That is concern for civilians in his own words, not paired with Israel’s right to defend itself, though it sits inside a counter-terror frame and takes no position on aid, weapons or the genocide. His 2026 Ballotpedia survey speaks of foreign policy only in general terms, and none of his campaign pages or the endorsement statements on them address Israel. Counter-case: 1/2, reading the concern as paired with continued strikes.
