Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”
Asked on WNHH FM’s “Dateline New Haven” (September 22, 2026) about Israel and a recent arms sale, he said “how much more do we support all these other countries”; if they “want to buy weapons from us … that’s okay,” but “we have to protect our borders first and then we could go out.” Told that people objected to bombs “being used for in Gaza,” he answered “how much do we really know,” blaming the media: “you don’t know what’s true or not.” A military veteran, former federal law-enforcement officer and fiber-network manager challenging Rep. Rosa DeLauro, he runs on border security and “putting America First —not China, not Ukraine, not the United Nations.”
A thin 1/2, on one radio answer. Asked on WNHH FM’s “Dateline New Haven” in September 2026 about Israel and a recent arms sale, he said that if they “want to buy weapons from us … that’s okay,” while asking “how much more do we support all these other countries” and putting the border first. Told that people objected to the bombs because of their use in Gaza, he waved it off: “how much do we really know,” blaming the media because “you don’t know what’s true or not.” He accepts selling Israel weapons and meets the harm in Gaza with doubt rather than concern for its civilians. On a thin record: that one answer. His “America First” line names China, Ukraine and the United Nations but not Israel, and his Ballotpedia page (no survey) and campaign site never mention Israel, Gaza or Palestine. He holds no office, and FEC filings show no pro-Israel PAC money. Counter-cases: 2, since he questions further support and speaks of sales, not aid; unrated, since the host, not he, named Israel.
