Clifton Brown

I · U.S. House, CO-3 · Tier 4/5

Tier 4/5, between “Critical / conditions aid” and “Critical on most positions”

Position

A carpenter who spent his career framing custom houses, running unaffiliated in CO-3 to launch his own HERO party (“Human and Environmental Rights Organization”), on anti-war, anti-corruption and election-reform planks. His issues page says “HEROs will stop funding the Zionist regime in Israel and end the sale of US arms worldwide,” that “The US backed attack on Gaza is genocide and the destruction there is an embarrassment to humanity,” and that the United States and Israel “have been attacking arab countries and stealing their land and oil since WWII ended.” Asked in iVoterGuide’s 2026 general-election questionnaire whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, Brown answered: “Isreal shouldn't get one cent of American support,” calling for Trump, Hegseth, Putin and Netanyahu all to be “arrested and held accountable for violating international laws” and saying “Gaza is the worst case of genocide since America wiped out the Native Americans.”

Why this tier

A 4/5, not a clean 5. As a challenger, he has no votes in Congress, so his words are the record. They reach past conditioning: an end to all U.S. funding for Israel, with the genocide named in his own voice; his call to end U.S. arms sales worldwide would bar sales to Israel too, but as a blanket stance it says nothing about Israel in particular. What holds him short of a clean 5 is that the stance rests on his first campaign’s own pages, his issues page and his 2026 iVoterGuide answer (“Isreal shouldn't get one cent of American support”), with no record behind it. “Zionist regime” is a hostile label rather than a rejection of a Jewish state in his own words, so nothing here reaches the legitimacy question. Counter-case: a 5, since the cutoff is in two statements, or if the funding cut and the worldwide arms-sales ban are read together as a full embargo on Israel.
