Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”

Position

Rancher and small-business owner who won the June 2026 GOP primary to face Steven Horsford. Asked by The Nevada Independent (Sept 2026) whether the U.S. should reduce its support for Israel, he answered No: “I support Israel and our longstanding support for that democratic nation and their sovereignty … They are an important and strategic ally.” He rated the Iran war “mostly no” on being worth its costs, calling for a conservative approach to troops overseas “while supporting our allies.”

Why this tier

A 1/2, not a clean 1. He opposes reducing U.S. support for Israel and frames it as a democratic, strategic ally, with no expressed concern for Palestinian civilians — the zero-daylight profile. His Iran skepticism is about U.S. troops, not Israel. There is no leadership on the issue (no authored legislation, hardline brand or pro-Israel fundraising), so 1/2 rather than a clean 1; open to a flat 2 if a Gaza-civilian statement surfaces.
