Tier 3, “Pro-Israel, critical”

Position

At an October 13, 2026 League of Women Voters forum in Cambridge with Rep. Andy Harris, asked whether he supports a two-state solution, he said, “Yes, we need a two-state solution in Israel and for the Palestinian people”; said the world is more dangerous for Jewish children and all children “because of the criminal partnership between our government and the government of Benjamin Netanyahu, both of which welcome ultra-nationalists into their ranks, people like Ben-Gvir and Smotrich in Israel, people like Nick Fuentes in the United States”; called for “drawing a red line around Palestinian autonomy” and “going after the terrorists which are terrorizing families in the West Bank”; and said of Gaza, “Joe Biden let it happen. President Trump made it so much worse and it is a stain on humanity.” Earlier in the forum he said the U.S. went to war with Iran “at the behest of Israel.” A consumer-protection specialist who worked with state banking regulators, endorsed by Gov. Wes Moore, Sen. Chris Van Hollen and Rep. Jamie Raskin, he runs against Rep. Andy Harris on costs, health care, the Chesapeake and anti-corruption.

Why this tier

A thin 3, on answers at one forum. At an October 13, 2026 League of Women Voters forum with Rep. Andy Harris he backed two states, said the world is more dangerous “because of the criminal partnership between our government and the government of Benjamin Netanyahu,” called for “going after the terrorists which are terrorizing families in the West Bank,” said of Gaza that “it is a stain on humanity,” and said the U.S. went to war with Iran “at the behest of Israel.” That goes past concern for civilians to U.S. complicity in Israel’s conduct, but he named no step on aid or weapons. Counter-case: 2/3, since his sharpest words target Netanyahu’s coalition and he keeps a two-state frame.
