Darline Graham

R · U.S. Senate, South Carolina · Tier 1/2

Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”

Position

Appointed to her late brother’s seat in July 2026 and nominated for the full term after beating Ralph Norman in the August 25 runoff; Trump- and RJC-endorsed. In August 2026 she cosponsored four bills — the U.S.-Israel FUTURES Act, two Iran bills and the Jewish American Security Act — saying “I stand with Israel” and “I truly believe we have a moral and religious duty to stand with the Jewish people and the nation of Israel to guard against those who seek to destroy them.” She told Netanyahu she would “continue supporting Israel in any way” she can, and she has voted against three Iran war-powers resolutions since taking office. At the October 11, 2026 debate with Annie Andrews she called Israel the United States’ “strongest ally” in the Middle East and condemned Hamas (South Carolina Public Radio), and said Andrews would not “stand up to socialist Democrats” who “cheered in the streets of New York” when Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023 (Charleston City Paper).

Why this tier

A 1/2, not a clean 1. Her record is reliable, unqualified support — cosponsorships, the RJC and Trump endorsements, a promise to Netanyahu, a Nay in September 2026 on bringing up S.Res.852, which requested a State Department report on Israel’s human-rights practices — but none of it is leadership: she has written no Israel legislation, runs no marquee pro-Israel fundraising, and has no hardline brand of her own (JTA reported in August that her campaign had largely avoided international affairs, and at the August 18 debate she said “National security is not my thing, not my area of expertise”). Her brother’s leadership on Israel does not pass to her. No expressed concern for Palestinian civilians appears in her statements, votes or debate answers — at her October 11, 2026 debate she called Israel the “strongest ally” and condemned Hamas without mentioning Palestinians — so she is not a flat 2; open to a clean 1 if she takes up authorship or leadership of Israel measures in the Senate.
