R · U.S. House, OH-2 · Tier 1/2

Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”

Position

Ohio Republican who took office in January 2025 and has voted for every tracked Israel measure since — the January 2025 ICC-sanctions bill, the September 2026 college anti-boycott bill and the July 2026 State Department funding bill, and against the 2025 Greene and 2026 Massie cuts — without any statement on Israel or Gaza on his official or campaign site. He cosponsored the 2025 Antisemitism Awareness Act and was an original cosponsor of H.Res.447, condemning antisemitism after two Israeli embassy staffers were killed in Washington (May 2025). His September 2026 Justice for Veterans and Victims of Terrorism Act would study opening the U.S. Victims of State-Sponsored Terrorism Fund to survivors injured, not only killed, by state sponsors of terrorism, responding to a court ruling against plaintiffs suing Iran; it does not mention Israel.

Why this tier

A 1/2. A short, zero-daylight voting record with no leadership on the issue: none of his 38 sponsored bills is Israel legislation, and no statement of his on the war in Gaza was found. No statement of concern for Gaza's civilians during the genocide was found, so this rests on votes and cosponsorships.
