I · U.S. Senate, Michigan · Tier 4/5

Tier 4/5, between “Critical / conditions aid” and “Critical on most positions”

Position

Green Party Senate nominee whose 2026 platform demands “an end to material support to states engaged in apartheid and genocide” and calls for “permanent ceasefires in Gaza”, adding that “The continued supply of weapons and funding for proxy wars, apartheid, and genocide is unconscionable.” His 2024 run carried the same line: “Stop the flow of weapons and funds to conflict zones.” These statements do not name Israel, but protesting his exclusion from the October 15, 2024 Senate debate, he listed among his three issues “an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, an end to the Israeli apartheid against Palestinians.”

Why this tier

A 4/5, at the edge of 5. Ending all “material support” — weapons and funding — to a state he calls an apartheid state committing genocide is the Tier 5 position in substance, and he has held it consistently across his 2024 and 2026 runs. What keeps it from a clean 5 is that the cutoff itself never names Israel: the reference is unmistakable (it sits in his Gaza ceasefire plank, and in October 2024 he called for “an end to the Israeli apartheid against Palestinians”) but inferred, and the record is a few survey answers, one platform paragraph and one short interview. No anti-Zionist, BDS or right-of-return position, so nothing toward Tier 6.
