Edgardo Baez
R · U.S. House, TX-20 · Tier 1/2
Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”
In his 2026 general-election iVoterGuide questionnaire he called the U.S.–Israel relationship “a strategic alliance and a moral one,” adding that “It is not a charity account and it is not optional sentiment” and that Israel “shares intelligence, missile-defense technology (Iron Dome and related systems have saved American and allied lives), and operational experience against the same Iranian-backed networks that target U.S. forces and shipping.” A Puerto Rico–born Army veteran, nurse and criminal-defense attorney, he runs on his record of public service, family values, veterans' benefits and healthcare access.
A 1/2, on a thin record: one questionnaire answer. Asked by iVoterGuide in 2026 whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, Baez called the relationship “a strategic alliance and a moral one,” crediting Iron Dome and related systems with having “saved American and allied lives.” That is unqualified support, with no stated position on U.S. aid or arms for Israel and nothing on Gaza or Palestinian civilians. His campaign site (all 93 sitemap pages) and 2025 Ballotpedia survey contain no foreign-policy content beyond a general remark on polarization. There is no leadership on the issue: no vote, bill or other act on Israel is on record. Counter-case: unrated until he says more.
