Tier 3, “Pro-Israel, critical”
Republican nominee for Assembly District 36 (Astoria and Long Island City), a street activist known as djelf7 who bills himself as “NYC's true America First candidate.” His campaign homepage says he represents “the faction that stands AGAINST war, and AGAINST the influence of Israel on our governance,” and his platform plank “Resisting the influence of AIPAC” objects that “We send so much money to Israel” while other causes go ignored.
A 3, on a thin record: campaign-page rhetoric about Israel’s influence and AIPAC. His homepage says he represents “the faction that stands AGAINST war, and AGAINST the influence of Israel on our governance”; his platform plank “Resisting the influence of AIPAC” objects that “We send so much money to Israel” while other causes go ignored; his About page calls Rep. Grace Meng “a Zionist shill” and pledges “I will never take money from AIPAC and will work to reclassify AIPAC as a foreign lobby.” That is an Israel-specific pull-back from aid and from the lobby, stated repeatedly in his own words. He makes no arms or aid pledge and says nothing about how the war is fought; on Palestinians, a July 28, 2026 video on his YouTube channel says they “have been really horribly affected by all of the violence and poverty that they’ve been subjected to,” beside calls for the two sides to talk. As a state Assembly candidate he has no federal record. Counter-case: 2/3, if the aid line is read as a complaint about priorities rather than a call to cut aid.
