Tier 2, “Mainstream pro-Israel”

Position

The Jewish Democratic Council of America, which endorses him, reports that he described Israel as an “indispensable strategic ally” and said the long-term U.S. goal should be a two-state solution with Israelis and Palestinians living in peace. His issues page's only Middle East item is a call to “Pressure the Trump Administration to withdraw from Iran to lower gas prices and negotiate with experts on a nuclear deal”; his foreign-policy plank pledges generic support for “democratic nations defending themselves” and congressional authorization before prolonged wars. DMFI PAC’s Majority Project named him in September 2026 among the “five pro-Israel Democratic candidates” it endorsed.

Why this tier

A thin 2. His only reported words on Israel come through the Jewish Democratic Council of America, which endorses him and says he called Israel an “indispensable strategic ally” and said the long-term U.S. goal should be a two-state solution with Israelis and Palestinians living in peace. That is mainstream Democratic support for the alliance, with no word on Gaza, Palestinian civilians, military aid or weapons, and no sign of leadership on Israel. His issues page frames the Middle East around Iran and war powers, and its support for “democratic nations defending themselves” names no country. His FEC filings show no money from the counted pro-Israel committees in 2022, 2024 or 2026. On a thin record: one endorser’s summary of his views, with no questionnaire answer or interview of his own on Israel or Gaza. Counter-cases: a 1/2, since the alliance language comes with no daylight at all; or unrated, since the words are the endorser’s account, not his own statement.
