Eon Huntley

D · New York State Assembly, District 56 · Tier 5/6

Tier 5/6, between “Critical on most positions” and “Most critical of Israel / supports Palestine”

Position

Won the June 2026 AD-56 primary over three-term incumbent Stefani Zinerman (~58%), effectively member-elect in Bed-Stuy / Crown Heights; a NYC-DSA / Afrosocialists organizer. Documented record: “Since October of 2023 I have participated in numerous direct actions calling attention to the ongoing genocide in Palestine. In 2025, I MC’ed a family solidarity rally in Brooklyn at Grand Army Plaza that culminated with an act of civil disobedience and my arrest alongside fellow demonstrators.” His platform pledges to “End US funding for genocide, vote for the Not on Our Dime Act, resist war and imperial oppression.” His platform also states that “Eon supports the Boycott, Divestment & Sanctions movement (BDS).” He does not identify as anti-Zionist or call for one state or the right of return.

Why this tier

Held at 5/6 — one position questioning Israel’s legitimacy as a Jewish state, on a thin record. His platform names BDS: “Eon supports the Boycott, Divestment & Sanctions movement (BDS).” Around it sits a maximal measures record in his own voice: he names “the ongoing genocide in Palestine,” pledges to end US funding for it and to vote for Not on Our Dime, and describes an arrest at a 2025 solidarity rally he MC’d. A platform plank is thinner than a repeated public stance, and he is not yet seated, so there is no record in office; sustained BDS advocacy in his own voice, or an anti-Zionist self-ID, would carry him to a clean 6.
