Gary Dye

I · U.S. Senate, Oregon · not rated

Position

On iVoterGuide he answered “Strongly Disagree” to “The United States should help defend Israel from attack by its enemies” (2018, U.S. House), “Disagree” to “I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state” (2020, U.S. Senate), and, asked in 2024 whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, wrote: “The First Amendment prohibits the endorsement of a Jewish state, or any other religious state.” He left the 2026 questionnaire unanswered. He is a perennial candidate, mostly as a Libertarian (in 2024 he ran in the Republican House primary), and a former refinery engineer whose 2024 Ballotpedia survey would “suspend all foreign aid (we’re bankrupt),” defend North America only while “lending our military to allies under attack, only,” and bring all troops home, naming no country.

Why not rated

Not rated: his Ballotpedia surveys (2020 and 2024) say nothing about Israel, Gaza or Palestine — the 2024 one would suspend all foreign aid, naming no country — and he submitted no statement to Oregon’s 2026 voters’ pamphlet; his Israel-specific answers are the iVoterGuide ones quoted above (2018, 2020 and 2024).
