Tier 4/5, between “Critical / conditions aid” and “Critical on most positions”
Perennial Green and Unity Party candidate and self-described lifelong pacifist. His 2026 platform states: “Israel has committed genocide against Gaza. I support war crimes tribunals, reparations to the people of Gaza, and nonviolent conflict resolution,” alongside “End all foreign military aid” and restricting the US military to “non-offensive defense of US territory.” Asked in iVoterGuide’s 2026 general-election questionnaire whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, Swing answered: “The United States government has been the primary sponsor of Israeli apartheid and genocide. US aid to Israel should be eliminated. I support international war crimes tribunals to try political and military leaders of both Israel and Hamas for crimes against humanity. I support a one-state solution. A secular government for the territory that includes both present-day Israel and Palestine should be elected by proportional representation, with constitutional protection of civil liberties.” In October 2026 he opposed a proposed Green Party of the United States resolution declaring “Zionism is Racism,” calling it “counterproductive and unhelpful”: he wrote that Zionism, “support for a Jewish nation-state,” “is closely tied to the identity of most Jewish people,” that “Obsession with these labels is a thin veil for antisemitism,” and that the draft wrongly singles out Israel “while simultaneously advocating an ethnonationalist right to return for Palestinians.” In the same comments he said “a one-state solution is part of the answer to ending apartheid” and that he agreed “with everything in sections three through six” of the draft, which back a Palestinian right of return, BDS and an end to U.S. military aid and weapons transfers to Israel.
A 4/5. In his 2026 iVoterGuide answer he ends U.S. aid to Israel by name (“US aid to Israel should be eliminated”), calling the U.S. “the primary sponsor of Israeli apartheid and genocide,” and his platform names the genocide in his own voice: “Israel has committed genocide against Gaza,” with war crimes tribunals and reparations to the people of Gaza. His end to all foreign military aid, a lifelong pacifist’s plank, now reaches Israel in his own words. He also backs “a one-state solution,” a secular government for Israel and Palestine elected by proportional representation. What holds him short of 5 is how he hedged that frame in October 2026: opposing a Green Party resolution declaring “Zionism is Racism” as “counterproductive and unhelpful,” he wrote that Zionism “is closely tied to the identity of most Jewish people” and that “Obsession with these labels is a thin veil for antisemitism,” and called a Palestinian return “ethnonationalist,” even while saying he agreed with the draft’s sections backing the right of return, BDS and an end to U.S. military aid. Counter-case: 5, on the end to aid and the genocide named in his own words, which he has not taken back.
