Tier 3/4, between “Pro-Israel, critical” and “Critical / conditions aid”

Position

Working Class Party perennial whose campaign speeches, published by his party, attack U.S. backing for Israel as imperialism: in October 2024 he said “The Israeli regime is carrying out these massacres with weapons supplied by the U.S.” and that “U.S. imperialism uses Israel as its cop in the Middle East”; in November 2023 he called the reports from Gaza “horrifying” and said “for 75 years, the Palestinian people have resisted their oppression”. He also called the October 7 attackers “Hamas terrorists”.

Why this tier

A 3/4 on words alone. His speeches go past the conditioning debate — Israel as U.S. imperialism’s “cop”, Gaza as “massacres” carried out with U.S. weapons, 75 years of Palestinian oppression — but he states no policy: no pledge to condition, withhold or embargo arms, no call to end military aid, no genocide language, and no anti-Zionist, BDS or right-of-return position. That is why he sits at 3/4: the words are strong, but there is no step to withhold weapons. Counter-case: 4, since his anti-imperialist frame rejects the alliance itself; an explicit call to end military aid would reach it.
