Tier 3/4, between “Pro-Israel, critical” and “Critical / conditions aid”

Position

On his campaign site in 2024 he called Israel’s assault on Gaza a genocide in his own voice — “All Israel is doing now is slaughtering civilians. They are bombing schools and hospitals, and this is no longer a war; it is a genocide. A genocide America continues to support with military aid to Israel” — while granting that “Israel had every right to defend itself” after Hamas’s attack, and wrote that “we Americans deserve a government that is not supporting either side.” A Hayden writer and perennial Libertarian candidate who calls himself “the peace candidate,” he runs in 2026 against undeclared wars, the Iran war and tariffs.

Why this tier

A 3/4, not a clean 4. He names the genocide in his own voice, repeatedly in 2024 — a May 2024 video titled “It is time to start calling Israel’s continuing war against Hamas a genocide” and the column “It’s Genocide In Gaza Now” — and ties it to U.S. military aid, writing that Americans deserve a government “not supporting either side,” which reads as ending U.S. support rather than conditioning it. What keeps him short of 4: he never states it as a pledge on aid or weapons, it sits inside a blanket non-interventionism (the U.S. should stay out of that war “and every other conflict we are currently involved in”), the same column grants that Israel “had every right to defend itself,” and his 2026 campaign has not repeated it. The counter-case is a 4, reading the column as a call to end military aid to Israel.
