Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”

Position

Asked in his 2026 general-election iVoterGuide questionnaire whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, he answered without naming Israel: “In Congress, I will join President Trump in ensuring America remains a loyal friend to its allies while always putting the sovereignty and security of the American people first.” A Trump-endorsed Air Force veteran and constitutional lawyer (Stanford Law) running for the open TX-32 seat against Democrat Dan Barrios; his foreign policy is an America First blanket — “no more nation-building, no more policing the world,” no more “endless foreign wars” — that never names Israel. In his 2024 state Senate run, he answered the same iVoterGuide question: “Yes because they are an ally in a volatile region.”

Why this tier

A thin 1/2, on one sentence. Asked by iVoterGuide in his 2024 Texas state Senate run whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, he answered: “Yes because they are an ally in a volatile region.” That is unqualified support, with no word on Gaza, Palestinians, aid or weapons. His 2026 answer to the same question keeps the ally frame without naming Israel, pledging to keep America “a loyal friend to its allies while always putting the sovereignty and security of the American people first.” AIPAC endorsed him, and $15,000 has reached his campaign through AIPAC’s PAC (2026). Nothing in his record is leadership on the issue. His Ballotpedia survey and campaign priorities page say nothing about Israel, and his opposition to “endless foreign wars” names no country. Counter-case: unrated, since the only words naming Israel are one sentence from a state race two years ago.
