Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”

Position

Republican challenger who has made Pat Ryan’s July 2026 break with AIPAC a campaign theme: she attacked his vote for Massie’s amendment — “He voted for a broad cutoff of military assistance to Israel” — and demanded he refund roughly $792,000 in AIPAC-linked money because he “broke his promise to unequivocally support Israel.” Her releases call the DSA antisemitic and cite a Democratic nominee who “questioned whether Israel should even exist”; her campaign runs a “Track AIPAT” page counting the money Ryan has not returned. Asked in a News 12 interview published October 22, 2026 whether Israel’s actions in Gaza amount to genocide, she said: “As a candidate, I’m not sure what I believe. I know that there’s a lot of propaganda that goes around, and I think that I would have to do a lot more research to give a better answer for that.”

Why this tier

A 1/2, not a clean 1. Her Israel position comes through attacks on her opponent, but it is unambiguous: she treats a vote to cut military financing as a betrayal, frames “unequivocal” support as the promise Ryan broke, and expresses no concern for Palestinian civilians anywhere; asked in October 2026 whether Israel’s conduct in Gaza is a genocide, she said she was “not sure” and pointed to “a lot of propaganda that goes around.” She holds no office and has no Israel legislation or lobby fundraising role, and an opposition campaign over an opponent’s AIPAC refund is not leadership on the issue or a hardline Israel brand. She left iVoterGuide’s Israel question unanswered, so her own aid position is inferred from these attacks rather than stated.
