Tier 2, “Mainstream pro-Israel”

Position

A member of the California Legislative Jewish Caucus, she co-signed its January 2024 letter, which said “Far too many Palestinian civilians, including a heartbreaking number of children, have been killed” while holding that Hamas “has cynically used these civilians as human shields” and that “Israel must do everything possible to protect civilian life while it defends itself,” and in September 2025 she coauthored SCR 105, calling for an end to the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and the release of all hostages. In the Assembly she voted for California's 2016 anti-BDS state-contracting law (AB 2844) and the 2024–25 campus-conduct and school-antisemitism bills (SB 1287, AB 2925, AB 715). She is the Democratic nominee for the open CA-26 seat.

Why this tier

A 2, on caucus and legislative acts rather than words of her own. Her record sits inside the pro-Israel frame — Jewish Caucus membership, a letter that defends Israel's “efforts at self-defense” and describes the BDS movement's goal as destroying “Israel’s economy and Israel itself,” and votes for the anti-BDS contracting law and the antisemitism bills — but coauthoring SCR 105, which asks for an end to Gaza's humanitarian catastrophe without invoking Israel's self-defense, is expressed concern for Palestinian civilians, which separates her from a 1/2. Nothing reaches 2/3: no criticism of how Israel is fighting and no position on U.S. aid. Counter-case: 1/2, reading the letter's concern as paired with Israel's defense and SCR 105 as a consensus measure with 41 coauthors; or NR, since the only words in her own voice found in her press archive, campaign site and Bluesky feed are an October 2025 post welcoming the hostages’ release as “a step toward lasting peace and healing in the region.”
