R · U.S. House, PA-12 · Tier 1/2

Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”

Position

His 2026 platform says “I also believe in standing by our allies, including Israel, to keep America and the world safe”; his 2023 Ballotpedia survey said “He supports Israel and its right to defend itself,” and his 2024 site that “he won’t walk away from our ally, Israel.” TribLive (February 2026) describes him as one of the challengers who are “staunch advocates for Israel,” tying that support to fighting antisemitism against Pittsburgh's Jewish community; in 2024 he told the Pittsburgh Jewish Chronicle he opposes the BDS movement, and in 2023 he attacked Rep. Summer Lee's vote against a House resolution backing Israel. In an October 27, 2026 profile, the Pittsburgh Jewish Chronicle reported that he calls Israel one of America’s strongest allies, that he does not believe Israel is committing a genocide, and that he said Israel’s response to October 7 has been “way more accommodative than most countries’” would have been.

Why this tier

A 1/2, not a clean 1. Across his 2024 and 2026 campaigns his record is steady, zero-daylight support — Israel's right to defend itself, opposition to BDS, an attack on the incumbent for her vote against an Israel resolution — with no expressed concern for Palestinian civilians, which rules out a flat 2. There is no leadership on the issue: he has never held office, authored nothing, and his support is a platform line rather than a brand or a fundraising operation. In October 2026 the Pittsburgh Jewish Chronicle reported that he does not believe Israel is committing a genocide. Open to a flat 2 if a Gaza-civilian statement of his own surfaces.
