Position

Asked in iVoterGuide’s 2024 general-election questionnaire whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, he answered: “Our relationship with all nations and peoples should be based on mutual respect and adherence to the principles we hold dear.” He followed it with the Declaration of Independence’s “all men are created equal” passage. His platform covers abortion, the Second Amendment, abolishing the Department of Education, taxes and the border; his campaign site calls the border a security issue “more important than current wars in Europe,” and in the 2024 questionnaire he chose the view that the U.S. “has become too involved in others’ policies,” adding: “Unending involvement in wars/foreign wars does not make us stronger.”

Why not rated

Not rated: his one statement on Israel is the 2024 iVoterGuide answer quoted above, which answers in terms of “all nations and peoples” rather than Israel and says nothing on aid, weapons, Gaza or Palestinians; nothing on Israel, Gaza or Palestine appears on his campaign site (Issues, About), in his 2022 Ballotpedia survey or in 2024–2026 race coverage; he did not answer WDET’s 2024 questionnaire. Running against Rashida Tlaib does not itself establish a position. Unrated until a position on aid or arms is stated.
