Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”

Position

Colorado Republican who took office in January 2025 and has voted for every tracked Israel measure since: the January 2025 ICC-sanctions bill, the September 2026 college anti-boycott bill and the July 2026 State Department funding bill, and against the 2025 Greene and 2026 Massie cuts. In his first days he cosponsored H.R.176, the No Immigration Benefits for Hamas Terrorists Act, and in a January 2025 Jewish Insider interview said that succeeding Doug Lamborn left him “big shoes to fill, when it comes to the State of Israel and our support for it,” that the U.S. has “no greater ally and friend than Israel,” and, by that account, that the U.S. should neither press Israel to accept a Hamas agreement nor limit its military response to October 7, adding that until Palestinians recognize Israel’s right to exist “there’s really nothing to negotiate”; he also called the June 2025 Boulder attack “yet another strike against our Jewish community” and backed the President's “Constitutional authority to defend the United States” in the Iran war-powers fight (Mar 2026); none of these statements voices concern for Gaza’s civilians.

Why this tier

A 1/2. A short but zero-daylight record with no leadership on the issue: none of his 12 sponsored bills and resolutions, or his one floor amendment, concerns Israel (his one foreign-terrorism resolution concerns Tren de Aragua), and his Israel-related actions are cosponsorships and votes. No statement of concern for Gaza's civilians during the genocide was found.
