Tier 4, “Critical / conditions aid”

Position

He is a Navy veteran and software engineer, and was also the 2024 Democratic nominee against Rep. Troy Balderson. His campaign issues page (posted by April 2026) runs a section headed “END Israel's Genocide in Gaza” that opens “We need to end U.S. funding for what is happening in the Gaza Strip” and says “We should immediately halt offensive military aid, demand a permanent ceasefire, and condition any future assistance on compliance with international law,” while granting that “The government of Israel has the right to security. That does not include collective punishment or the destruction of civilian life.” His money plank calls for “banning foreign-linked organizations, including groups like AIPAC, from influencing elected officials.” On the third anniversary of October 7 he posted: “We must end all U.S. aid to Israel until it has proven itself a government that can co-exist with its neighbors in the Middle East and aim for peace instead of power,” writing in the attached statement that “Every country has a right to defend itself. They do not have a right to do so with our tax dollars.” On October 14, 2026 he posted: “Unlike my opponent, I will never support legislation that funds another country’s war crimes or punishes American businesses for divesting from Israel. My votes and my district are not for sale.”

Why this tier

A 4. He names the genocide in his own voice, in a platform section headed “END Israel's Genocide in Gaza” that opens “We need to end U.S. funding for what is happening in the Gaza Strip” and pledges to “immediately halt offensive military aid.” On the third anniversary of October 7 he went further: “We must end all U.S. aid to Israel until it has proven itself a government that can co-exist with its neighbors,” writing that while “Every country has a right to defend itself,” Israel may not do so “with our tax dollars.” But his own platform pulls the other way: the cutoff lasts “until” Israel changes, the platform still asks to “condition any future assistance” and grants that Israel’s government “has the right to security,” and his iVoterGuide questionnaire calls Israel “a strategic partner in a critical region.” Counter-case: 4/5, reading the October post’s end to all aid, with the genocide named, as his policy.
