Tier 4, “Critical / conditions aid”

Position

A family-law attorney and chair of the Salt Lake City Libertarian Party, he runs on ending undeclared “forever wars,” bringing troops home, abolishing ICE and the federal death penalty, and freer immigration. In The Salt Lake Tribune’s 1st District voter guide (Oct 12, 2026), asked for another topic he cares about, he named anti-war policy — “The United States has become imperialistic and our tax money is going to war efforts and violence that Americans do not agree with” — pledged legislation to repeal the War Powers Resolution of 1973, and wrote: “I would work to cut funding to Israel and end the genocide in Palestine.”

Why this tier

A 4, on a thin record: one written answer. Asked in The Salt Lake Tribune’s October 2026 voter guide for “another topic you care about,” he chose anti-war policy and wrote: “I would work to cut funding to Israel and end the genocide in Palestine.” That names the genocide in his own words and pairs it with a pledge to cut funding to Israel by name, volunteered rather than prompted by a question on Israel. What holds it short of 4/5: “cut” may mean reducing aid rather than ending it, he says nothing on arms sales or defensive systems, and it is one answer; his campaign site’s foreign-policy plank names no country, and he left iVoterGuide’s Israel question unanswered. Counter-case: 3/4, if “cut funding” is read as part of his general call to cut money sent overseas rather than a pledge on Israel.
