Jim Higgins

I · U.S. House, MO-3 · not rated

Position

Asked in iVoterGuide’s 2026 general-election questionnaire whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, he answered “not really”; in its 2016 questionnaire he marked “Disagree” on “The United States should help defend Israel from attack by its enemies.” No statement on Gaza or on aid to Israel was found. A retired computer systems analyst and perennial Libertarian candidate (including governor in 2012, state Senate in 2014 and 2018, and Congress in 2016, 2020 and 2022), he has no campaign site or Ballotpedia survey; his past platforms covered spending, regulation, drug legalization and civil liberties.

Why not rated

Not rated: his statements on Israel are one-line questionnaire answers. Asked by iVoterGuide in 2026 whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, he answered “not really”; in 2016 he marked “Disagree” on “The United States should help defend Israel from attack by its enemies”; in 2020 he was “Neutral” on “I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state”; and in 2022 he left its BDS question unanswered. None addresses Gaza or aid and weapons to Israel, and his 2026 foreign-policy answer names no country: “Protect our borders and stay out of the affairs of other countries.” He has completed none of Ballotpedia’s 2020, 2022 or 2026 surveys and lists no campaign site, and the platforms Ballotpedia quotes from his 2012 and 2016 campaigns say nothing about Israel, foreign aid or the Middle East. Unrated until a position on aid or arms is stated.
