Joe Mitchell

R · U.S. House, IA-2 · not rated

Position

No statement on Israel, Gaza or Palestine in his own words found. A former state representative (2019–2023) and the Trump-endorsed nominee for the open IA-2 seat, he voted for Iowa’s 2022 law writing the IHRA working definition of antisemitism, with its contemporary examples, into state law (HF 2220; passed the House 66-31); his campaign runs on costs, spending, farmers and border security, with a national-security line to “reward friends and punish foes”.

Why not rated

Not rated: the only Israel-related act is his February 2022 vote for HF 2220 — frame-keeping that would hold him short of the critical end, but on its own no placement. Nothing on his campaign site (home, About, Issues) or Ballotpedia profile (no survey) addresses Israel. Unrated until there is a statement of his own; the counter-case is a provisional 1/2 reading the IHRA vote and the Trump endorsement together.
