R · U.S. House, CA-9 · Tier 1/2

Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”

Position

A longtime college strength-and-conditioning coach challenging Rep. Josh Harder, he runs on medical freedom and food safety, crime, water rights, tax and spending cuts, energy independence, parental rights and opposition to a central bank digital currency. Asked in iVoterGuide’s 2024 primary questionnaire whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, he answered: “I believe this relationship is extremely important, though I am very distrusting of who is controlling the narrative of what is actually happening there. I do not think a two state solution is possible when the goal of one side is the annihilation of the other side.” In its 2026 general-election questionnaire he answered: “To a degree our relationship with Israel is important because it has historically been the only nation in the Middle East who did not wish for our destruction. At the same time Israel could easily lead us into never ending wars.”

Why this tier

A thin 1/2, on two questionnaire answers. Asked by iVoterGuide in his 2024 primary whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, he wrote, “I believe this relationship is extremely important,” and rejected a two-state solution: “I do not think a two state solution is possible when the goal of one side is the annihilation of the other side.” That goes beyond a bare ally sentence, and it carries no concern for Palestinian civilians; his distrust of “who is controlling the narrative of what is actually happening there” questions the accounts from the region rather than voicing concern for the people of Gaza. Neither answer, nor his Ballotpedia surveys or campaign site, says anything on aid, weapons or Gaza. Counter-case: 2, on his 2026 answer, which values the relationship only “to a degree” and warns that Israel “could easily lead us into never ending wars”; but that is America First distance from Israel, not concern for Palestinians.
