Johnny Garcia

D · U.S. House, TX-35 · not rated

Position

No documented position on Israel, Gaza or Palestine found. A Bexar County sheriff’s deputy and SWAT hostage negotiator who calls himself “An old school Democrat,” he faces Republican Carlos De La Cruz on lowering costs — including “We must end the war in Iran so that we lower gas prices” — banning congressional stock trading, border security with immigration reform, and health care. Asked on Texas Public Radio’s The Source (May 14, 2026) about his runoff opponent’s charge that AIPAC funded him, he called it a baseless claim from a tracking site that listed him after his Democratic Majority for Israel endorsement and said, “We haven’t taken any money from AIPAC,” adding: “My issues are making sure that our community stays safe, that we combat anti-Semitic remarks that we’ve seen my opponent make.”

Why not rated

Not rated: his issues and biography pages and his Ballotpedia record (no survey) never mention Israel, Gaza or Palestine; his Iran-war line is about gas prices. Unrated until a position is stated.
