Tier 2, “Mainstream pro-Israel”
His campaign site’s side-by-side comparison lists “YES to Two-State Solution & Protection of Civilians”, pledging to “Support a secure, sovereign Two-State model for long-term peace and self-determination for both Israelis and Palestinians” and “Absolute opposition to violence against civilian populations.” He attacks his opponent Darializa Avila Chevalier as one who “Claims Israel has no right to exist,” and under the heading “SHE’S NEGLECTING THE NEEDS OF NY 13 – CONFLICT OF INTEREST” his site says “We nominate Darializa for President in Palestine or Israel But Definitely Not For NY 13 Congress,” quoting the Supreme Court that “double allegiance … has no place in our law” and “The Dual Loyalty Disclosure Act.” No position on U.S. military aid or arms.
A flat 2, on a thin record. He affirms Israel’s place in a two-state settlement and attacks his opponent for rejecting Israel’s right to exist — frame-keeping positions — while pairing them with his own pledge against violence toward civilians and self-determination for Palestinians, made without invoking Israel’s need to defend itself. He says nothing about aid, arms, conditioning or the conduct of the war, so there is nothing toward 2/3; with no endorsements, money or leadership, nothing toward the pro-Israel pole either. Counter-case: the civilian line is generic rather than Gaza-specific, and his site casts his opponent’s ties to Palestine as divided loyalty, which would read as 1/2.
