Jon Bonck
R · U.S. House, TX-38 · Tier 1/2
Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”
In his 2026 general-election iVoterGuide questionnaire he wrote that the relationship with Israel is “critically important,” calling Israel “one of America’s closest and most reliable allies” and the partnership “both a moral responsibility and a strategic necessity.” A Houston mortgage executive and church deacon, endorsed by Trump, Ted Cruz and House GOP leadership, who won the May 2026 GOP runoff for the open seat; his platform’s foreign-policy line is a pledge of “No more blank checks for foreign wars. Put America first.”
A 1/2, on a thin record: one questionnaire answer. Asked by iVoterGuide in 2026 whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, Bonck called Israel “one of America’s closest and most reliable allies” and support for it “both a moral responsibility and a strategic necessity.” That is unqualified support, with nothing on aid, weapons, Gaza or Palestinian civilians. AIPAC’s PAC gave his campaign $5,500 in 2026. His platform’s “no more blank checks for foreign wars” line names no country. There is no leadership on the issue: no vote, bill or other act on Israel is on record. Counter-case: unrated until he says more.
