Jonathan Nez
D · U.S. House, AZ-2 · not rated
No documented position on Israel, Gaza or Palestine found; his one recorded remark on the war came as he launched his first run in October 2023, when he told the Arizona Republic: “We have got a war against Hamas in Israel. We have a war in Ukraine right now. But the House of Representatives can’t do anything unless there is a speaker.” A former Navajo Nation president (2019–2023) in a rematch with Rep. Eli Crane, he runs on lowering costs, rural water and infrastructure and anti-corruption; his press releases repeatedly attack Crane’s votes to continue the Iran war, saying Crane “should understand the magnitude of wars in the Middle East and work to stop them.” The Jewish Democratic Council of America is among his listed endorsers.
Not rated: no documented individual position on Israel and Palestine. His agenda, his Ballotpedia page and every press release on his site are silent on Israel and Gaza; his October 2023 remark about “a war against Hamas in Israel” faulted the House for having no speaker and stated no view on aid or weapons; and the Iran-war attacks do not count as a stance on Israel. Unrated until a position is stated.
