Jordan Wright

D · New York State Assembly, District 70 · not rated

Position

AD-70 incumbent (Harlem) with a hyper-local platform (housing, youth, Harlem) and a thin record on Israel and Gaza: in May 2025 he was one of 133 multi-sponsors of K509, the Assembly resolution congratulating Israel on its 77th anniversary, and in a 2024 Jim Owles Liberal Democratic Club questionnaire he backed an immediate ceasefire.

Why not rated

Not rated: the record is thin and points both ways. In May 2025 he was one of 133 multi-sponsors of K509, the Assembly resolution congratulating Israel on its 77th anniversary. In his 2024 Jim Owles Liberal Democratic Club questionnaire he answered “Yes” to an immediate ceasefire, said “the U.S. must leverage its immense international power” to achieve one while leaving any conditions on aid to “foreign affairs experts and officials,” and said he would not have voted to censure Rashida Tlaib. Moving Harlem Forward, the super PAC backing him, took $25,000 apiece from three pro-Israel donors and is described by City & State as continuing Solidarity PAC’s pro-Israel election work against DSA challengers — money spent for him, not words of his. A buffer-zone-bill cosponsorship sometimes attributed to him is unconfirmed. Unrated until a position on aid or weapons is stated.
