Joseph Chou
R · U.S. House, NY-6 · Tier 1/2
Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”
His issues page covers tax policy, student-loan rates, parental rights, education options, immigration and cashless bail, framed around Biblical stewardship. Asked in iVoterGuide’s 2026 general-election questionnaire whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, Chou answered: “Our ally in the Middle East. Historically Israel has survived persecution and annihilation without provocation. Perhaps there are unspoken reasons calling for it’s destruction”. Asked the same question in his 2024 questionnaire for the seat, he answered: “Those who bless Israel god will bless”.
A 1/2, on a thin record: two questionnaire answers. Asked by iVoterGuide in 2026 whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, Chou called Israel “Our ally in the Middle East” that “has survived persecution and annihilation without provocation.” In 2024 he answered the same question “Those who bless Israel god will bless”. That is unqualified support, with nothing on aid, weapons, Gaza or Palestinian civilians. Neither his campaign site nor his three campaigns' Ballotpedia records carry any foreign-policy statement, and he has completed no Ballotpedia survey. There is no leadership on the issue: no vote, bill or other act on Israel is on record. Counter-case: unrated until he says more.
