Tier 2, “Mainstream pro-Israel”
Republican Senate nominee, a Navy veteran and Tabernacle attorney challenging Cory Booker. His 2026 primary questionnaire calls U.S.-Israel military, technological, diplomatic and economic cooperation “a foundation of stability in the middle east,” and WHYY reported in September that he had expressed support for Israel. At the October 8, 2026 debate with Booker he said the trouble was “not in the Gaza Strip but the West Bank,” where some Israeli settlers are “attacking and burning homes,” and added: “I would like the president to be a little harder on Israel to make sure that that stops.” His site frames October 7, 2023 as proof that “radical islamic terrorism is still a threat to civilized nations,” and in an August 2026 interview he said “the Iranian regime needs to be long gone.”
A 2, on a thin record: one questionnaire answer and one debate exchange. He backs the alliance, calling U.S.-Israel cooperation “a foundation of stability in the middle east” in his 2026 primary questionnaire. But at his October 8, 2026 debate with Cory Booker he said some West Bank settlers are “attacking and burning homes” and “I would like the president to be a little harder on Israel to make sure that that stops”: concern for Palestinians in his own words, with no appeal to Israel’s right to defend itself. He names no step on weapons or aid, and placed the trouble “not in the Gaza Strip but the West Bank.” Counter-case: 1/2, reading a single debate answer as too thin to carry the daylight.
