Tier 3/4, between “Pro-Israel, critical” and “Critical / conditions aid”
Asked by Lone Star Left whether she supports ending U.S. military aid to countries with ongoing human rights abuses, including Israel and Egypt, she answered: “Yes. I support full investigations and oversight into countries committing human rights abuses and withholding support – including funding and military aid – from those violating international law and harming civilians” (January 2026). Her campaign site says: “I believe Israel has the right to defend itself, but Prime Minister Netanyahu does not have the right to bomb civilians, restrict humanitarian aid, or force famine in Gaza. If elected, I will prevent any U.S. funds from being used to commit war crimes and harm civilians, and I will call for oversight and independent investigations to ensure war criminals are held accountable for breaking international law.” A biologist who worked at the Government Accountability Office and as a Senate oversight investigator, she is the TX-21 Democratic nominee for the open seat against Mark Teixeira, as she was the nominee in 2024.
A 3/4. She answered yes to ending military aid to abusers when the question named Israel, and her own pledge is to withhold funding and military aid from governments violating international law and harming civilians — a conditioning commitment that reaches Israel's weapons. Her campaign site names Israel and Gaza — Netanyahu “does not have the right to bomb civilians, restrict humanitarian aid, or force famine in Gaza” — but sets that beside “I believe Israel has the right to defend itself,” frames the pledge around war crimes and investigations rather than an end to weapons, and never names the genocide, which holds her short of 4. Counter-case: a 4 or 4/5 if her “Yes” is read as endorsing an end to Israel's military aid outright.
