Tier 6, “Most critical of Israel / supports Palestine”

Position

'Working-class, antiwar, anti-genocide'; end ALL military aid; called Israel's campaign 'a new holocaust.' She calls for ending “the occupation of Palestine,” and her campaign holds that “the existing Israeli State, its apartheid system, and Israeli capitalism must be smashed”; as a Seattle councilmember she sponsored the city’s November 2023 ceasefire resolution (Resolution 32118), which passed 6–0, with three abstentions, only after an amendment struck its call to end all U.S. military aid to Israel and its demand to end the occupation; the adopted text backs a long-term ceasefire, the return of all hostages and humanitarian aid. Her campaign describes it as calling for “an end to all military aid to Israel”; the adopted text does not. A revolutionary-socialist anti-Zionist, she opposes the state as such, not only its conduct.

Why this tier

A 6. A revolutionary socialist whose position is explicit and in her own voice. She calls to “end the occupation of Palestine,” backs the right of Palestinians “to return and live with equal rights in any area in Israel,” and her campaign holds that “the existing Israeli State, its apartheid system, and Israeli capitalism must be smashed” — which treats the state itself, not just its post-1967 conduct, as illegitimate. She drafted a 2014 letter to end all US military aid, the settlements, and the occupation, won passage of Seattle’s 2023 ceasefire resolution (after her end-aid and end-occupation language was amended out), calls the assault a “new holocaust,” and campaigns to end all US military funding. That anti-Zionist framing in her own voice questions Israel’s legitimacy outright rather than at the edges.
