Kyle Austin

I · U.S. Senate, Montana · not rated

Position

A Billings pharmacist and farmer, he runs as a Libertarian on healthcare, agriculture and cutting government. He opposes the Iran war — “Iran is our enemy, but it's not our war” (KTVQ, March 2026) — and on his weekly radio show, My Fellow Montanans, has cast it as Israel’s war: “I do believe we’re going in just to defend Israel and put an end to the garbage” (February 2026); in March he asked “why is Israel not flipping the bill?” and said “I don’t even think we should be doing their dirty work.” In the February show he said the American government has taken “sides with Israel, even though Israel and the Jewish people are the outsiders here that just kind of walked in and said, ‘Hey, I’m going to take this land from you and we’re just going to relocate here.’ Now, there’s probably more to the story than that, but like I said, I’m not old enough to get the details.” Asked in iVoterGuide’s 2026 general-election questionnaire whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, Austin answered: “Yes, It is important to maintain solid foreign relationships with all countries around the world.” In his 2024 House run he answered the same question: “yes.. The United states needs a good relationship with Israel to maintain good foreign policy in the middle east.” In 2022 he marked “Neutral” on supporting BDS.

Why not rated

Not rated: his words on Israel concern the Iran war, which he casts as Israel’s fight that the U.S. should stay out of or bill Israel for, beside questionnaire answers that value “a good relationship with Israel” (2024) or relations “with all countries” (2026). In a debate his campaign posted in April 2026 he said instead that the war is “not about Israel, it’s not about the oil, it is about the culture war that’s going on.” He has stated no position on military aid or weapons to Israel or on Gaza, and his campaign site and 2026 Ballotpedia survey never mention Israel, Gaza or Palestine. Unrated until a position on aid, weapons or Gaza is stated.
